Assets for Artists currently supports Rhode Island artists through an initiative with the USDA and RISCA.

We offer business and finance workshops and 1-on-1 coaching specifically catered toward rural and non-rural Rhode Island artists. Whether you’re working in Providence, Warwick, Bristol, Portsmouth or in a community in between, we are here to strengthen the financial success of your creative practice.

Our Rhode Island work is in partnership with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) and the USDA - RBDG Program.

CAPACITY-BUILDING GRANT PROGRAM

Intermittently from 2015 - 2021 Assets for Artists partnered with RISCA to support a cohort of Capacity-Building (previously called “Matched Savings”) Grantees.

OUR PLANS FOR OUR 2022 CAPACITY-BUILDING GRANT PROGRAM

Due to limited staffing capacity, it is looking unlikely that we will be able to host any statewide open calls for grantees in Rhode Island in the upcoming year. Join our mailing list to keep updated on any capacity-building grant opportunities when we announce them and check out our upcoming workshops, many of which are open to Rhode Island Artists.

2020 Grantees: Sondra Wiskari, S. Tourjee, k. funmilayo aileru, and Si Jie Loo.

1-ON-1 BUSINESS COACHING

Every Rhode Island artist who participates in one of our workshops is eligible to register for 1-on-1 coaching with one of Assets for Artists’ staff. We're here to help you navigate the challenges or opportunities you’re currently facing. Information is given directly to artists during our workshops.

ONLINE & IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS

Assets for Artists offers an ever-evolving selection of workshops to address the most urgent needs, challenges, and opportunities facing artists in our region. Learn from our amazing artist-trainers and build connections with artist peers - you’re not alone!

All workshops are FREE and held via Zoom, with pre-registration required to keep the cohorts at a size that maximizes participation and peer support.

Programming throughout Southern New England is made possible thanks to the Open For Business Fund at the Wells Fargo Foundation. Our Rhode Island programming is made possible in partnership with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts thanks to funding from a US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Business Development Grant.
