Our North Adams Project offers funding and professional development for the growing artist community in North Adams, and for artists looking to set down creative roots in our great little city. It's about celebrating and supporting our hometown.

There's never been a better time to make the move.

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Berkshires, North Adams is an amazing little city full of creative energy. With world class institutions like MASS MoCA, the Clark Art Institute, and the Williams College Museum of Art all nearby, there is never a shortage of cultural happenings, and the beautiful outdoor setting puts art and nature side by side. North Adams' affordable real estate makes it possible for creative entrepreneurs to launch gallery projects such as OutsideGravity Gallery, and Ferrin Contemporary, and artist residencies such as 36 Chase & Barns Residency and the Studios at MASS MoCA. And grassroots community art centers like Makers’ Mill and the Common Folk Artist Collective offer plenty of opportunities to get involved and make your mark.

The 2018 application contained 3 opportunities for artists to build their creative practice in North Adams:

1) Our Matched Savings Grant program, with a $4,000 matching grant and professional development services available to selected artists who meet federal low- to moderate-income criteria. Current residents of North Adams & artists who are interested in re-locating here in 2018 may apply.

2) A NEW $1,000 Relocation Grant, available to selected artists who do not meet the income guidelines for our matched savings program but who plan to relocate to North Adams in 2018.

3) A NEW $500 Project Grant, available to selected artists in support of a creative project that will benefit / be accessible to the public of North Adams. Only those artists currently with a home or studio in North Adams may apply for the project grant.

This year's applications are currently closed,
